Facelift
Am I the right candidate?
You have jowling, neck laxity, or loss of definition in the lower face.
Non-surgical treatments have reached their limit for what they can do.
You are in good general health without significant medical conditions.
You are not on blood-thinning medications and have no bleeding disorders.
You are ready to commit to a recovery period.
Note: A facelift is not appropriate if there are significant anaesthetic risks, untreated medical conditions, or if you are seeking revision of a previous facelift. Revision surgery carries a higher level of complexity and is assessed individually.
Fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon. Two techniques. One year of aftercare included.
There is a specific moment most women describe. A photograph. An angle they could not control. They look at it and think: that is not what I look like.
It is not vanity. It is the face no longer matching the person inside it. And once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
A facelift, performed correctly, gives that face back.
Extended Deep Plane Facelift
For women with significant jowling, neck laxity, or deeper facial ageing. This is the most comprehensive facelift technique available and produces the strongest, longest-lasting result.
What it addresses: jowls, jawline definition, neck bands, lower face laxity, heaviness through the mid-cheek
Surgery procedure: 4 to 6 hours, general anaesthetic, performed at a partner surgical facility. Day case or one overnight stay. No drains.
Who is the right candidate for this procedure: typically women in their 50s and above with moderate to significant facial laxity
Ponytail Lift: Endoscopic Minimal-Scar Facelift
A technique for women whose primary concern is the upper and mid-face: the brows, the midcheek, the early loss of definition. Where there is no heavy jowling, this approach delivers natural, rested results with scars that are fully concealed, placed entirely within the hairline.
The procedure uses an endoscope (a small camera), which means no open incisions around the ear. The entire operation is performed through very small access points hidden in the hair.
What it addresses: brow position, midcheek volume descent, early facial laxity
Surgery procedure: performed under general anaesthetic. Shorter recovery than a full deep plane procedure.
Who is the right candidate for this procedure: women who want to address early or mid-stage facial ageing without a full facelift, or women who want natural improvement with the least visible evidence of surgery.
Recovery Process, Every Step
Recovery is individual. These are realistic timeframes, not best-case ones.
Week 1: We initiate each engagement with a focused discovery phase.
Week 2: Swelling begins to reduce. Bruising fades. You are not yet ready to be seen publicly, but you are moving normally.
Week 3: Most patients are able to be out: coffee shops, local errands. Some bruising may still be visible, which concealer can manage.
Week 4: You attend your one-month review. The majority of swelling has resolved. You are recognisably yourself. Most people will not be able to identify what has changed, only that you look well.
Month 6: The result has fully settled. Residual swelling from the deeper layers has resolved completely.
1 Year: Final review. This is the result you will carry forward.
Aftercare
Every patient is followed for one full year. This is included in the cost of surgery, not an optional add-on. Your follow-up schedule consistents of Day 1 post-operative check, Day 7 wound review and stitch removal, Week 4 review, 6-month review and the 1-year final review

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Dr Shaimaa?
I am a facial plastic surgeon. Not a general plastic surgeon who performs some facelifts alongside breast and abdominal work. Every case I operate on is in the head and neck.
My training is composed of:
Surgical fellowship in craniofacial surgery
Surgical fellowship in facial plastic surgery
UCL Masters in Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Surgery
Over 2,100 procedures across six years of NHS surgical practice
Ongoing attendance at the highest-level international conferences: NY Face Masters Course, ASAPS, EAFPS
I am also the only surgeon in the UK trained in and licensed to perform the Ponytail Lift, the endoscopic technique trademarked by Dr. Chachi Kao, the surgeon who developed it. This licence is not self-declared. Dr. Kao trains surgeons individually and reviews their results before authorising use of his technique and name. I completed training with Dr. Kao directly.
I have a small practice by design, allowing patients to receive my full attention. You get more of my time, my focus, and my commitment to your outcome. I see and manage my own patients, with my involvement at every step.

Around ten years, based on the evidence for deep plane techniques. This is significantly longer than mid-face or SMAS-only procedures, which typically need revision at five to seven years.
No cosmetic procedure lasts forever, but a well-performed facelift produces durable structural change that no injectable or machine treatment can replicate or maintain.
The procedure also does not stop you aging. You will continue to age from the point of surgery, but from a significantly restored baseline. Women who have facelifts in their 50s often look better at 65 than they would have looked without surgery.

This is the question I am asked most. The answer depends entirely on technique and on surgical judgement.
The “overdone” look comes from pulling skin without addressing deeper anatomy, or from removing too much tissue. A deep plane approach repositions structure, not just skin. The result moves with your face because it is attached to the structures that move your face. When people ask “has she had work done?” about a patient of mine, the honest answer should be: impossible to tell.

Most patients are comfortable being out in public at around week 3. For work, it depends on your work. Office-based work: most women return in two to three weeks. Any work where appearance is professionally significant: allow four to six weeks.

Yes. The goal is to look like you. Specifically, to look as you did some years ago. Not younger in a general way, but restored to the version of yourself you recognise. The patients who leave my clinic most satisfied are the ones who say: people tell me I look well, but nobody can tell me why.

Facelift surgery with Dr Jamshidi starts from £25,000. This includes your consultation, surgery, and a full year of post-operative reviews. It does not include anaesthetic fees, facility fees, or optional add-ons such as lymphatic massage or laser treatments.
Surgery of this scale is not an impulse decision, and the cost reflects the time, expertise, and follow-up commitment involved. I am happy to discuss this in detail at consultation.
